Defend Military families and Veterans
If I am elected, I will defend our military families by ending and not seeking wars without every diplomatic channel being exhausted...and then exhausted again. Also, I will never support a unilateral military offensive. Every action must be agreed to in the United Nations Security Council. War is not the answer, it is the end and it reshapes countries and leaves families with unbearable pain. There are real threats to our way of life and to innocent civilians in all countries, we need a stronger State Department to deal with the threats in responsible diplomatic negotiations and we cannot put boots on the ground every time!
I stand for the mothers, fathers, grandparents, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters of our active and reserve military members who do not want to see their Soldier, Sailor, Marine or Airman shipped to war or a hostile location, when diplomacy and sanctions should have been continued.
Military families should be together and strengthened. I also support pay increases for all active and reserve military members to fairly compensate them for the sacrifices their families and they make every day.
Once they leave service due to injuries or honorable discharge, their dedication and willingness to fight in our conflicts should at least be reciprocated in how we care for their medical and mental needs. Legislation can help to streamline the process, make it easier for veterans to get the care they need closer to home and improve the staffing and facilities of our hospitals.
